Ditch the dryer sheets

Are you still using dryer sheets?  Substitute them for wool dryer balls.  Wool dryer balls have been around for a long time and recently making a come back.  This is one of those easy things to replace to begin removing toxins from your home.

“Dryer balls are used to help dry clothes more quickly than usual as well as to soften fabrics in the dryer. When you load a big armful of wet towels into the dryer they will flop and tumble around. Normally fabric will stick together in the dryer, slowing down the drying process.”  Source – The Homemade Experiment

“When you add dryer balls into your clothes dryer the balls  will get in-between the towels and clothing. The balls will separate and pull them apart with their weight. This in turn is allows more hot air in and around your laundry helping the dryer to heat your laundry more quickly and suck the evaporated water out of the dryer more efficiently.” Source – The Homemade Experiment

Typically, 3-4 dryer balls are used per load.  And don’t forget to add your favorite essential oil to the balls to give your laundry a wonderful smell without the chemicals.  A few drops on each ball each time you use them works great.  Lavender, citrus fresh, purification are just a few that I love to use.

Give these a try and let me know what you think.
